Eternal Ascent

3D Animation

The Project

Participating in the eighth edition of the massive Pwnisher 3D animation challenge requires both technical precision and strong creative vision. Competing alongside thousands of digital artists, the core objective was to adapt a provided starter template by replacing all major scene elements while keeping the camera entirely untouched. The visual and atmospheric direction for this piece was heavily inspired by the sci-fi film The Creator, specifically a scene featuring the surreal juxtaposition of a Buddhist monk within a harsh mountainous environment. My goal was to capture that exact feeling of serene spirituality contrasting with the overwhelming scale of the snowy peaks. Working within a highly compressed timeline of only one week, the initially planned robotic figure evolved into a human monk. To elevate the piece, I focused my technical efforts on the dynamic animation of the floating steps. I engineered them to physically lower under the character's weight and instantaneously bloom with lush green grass upon impact. This specific environmental interaction brings a living and breathing element to the desolate snowy landscape, adding a highly original signature to my cinematic homage. You can spot my submission in the official results video.
